Destination
Freedom ran from 1948 to 1950 and was the story of the triumph of
African-American civil rights. Richard Durham's Destination Freedom
premiered on June 27, 1948 on Chicago radio and his vision was to
reeducate the masses on the image of African American society, since it
was tainted with stereotypes that threatened to rip its culture apart.
Some of the heroes of the fight for civil rights were, Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr., Malcolm X, Frederick Douglas, Harriet Tubman, and Lena Horne.
