Researchers and federal health policy officials talked about efforts to
combat Hepatitis C in the United States during a panel discussion hosted
by the AIDS Institute in Washington, DC. Despite widespread
availability of a cure for the disease, high costs have hindered the
treatment’s distribution to some of the poorest patients. Panelists
discussed ways in which costs could be lowered and the medication made
more widely available.
