City Councilman Prepares to Unveil Reforms Boosting Transparency as Part of Speakership Bid

Councilman Corey Johnson is set to unveil a set of reforms — including putting the entire city budget online 48 hours prior to a vote — he says would boost transparency in the Council that he’d commit to if elected speaker, he told the Daily News.

And he says he hopes any candidate for the Council’s top spot would embrace them.

“I think these are common-sense, transparency-related forms that anyone who runs for speaker and hopefully more broadly Council members would be supportive of,” he said.
