Sen. Dick Durbin and 12 cosponsors this week introduced new legislation
to counter the threat of terrorism posed by white supremacists and other
homegrown extremists. The Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act would
institutionalize the fight against domestic terror within federal law
enforcement agencies, a goal long sought by the SPLC. It comes a week
after SPLC President Richard Cohen testified on the subject before the
House Homeland Security Committee.
