On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the President signed into law:
S.
238, the “Eric Williams Correctional Officer Protection Act of 2015,”
which requires the Bureau of Prisons (BOP), within the Department of
Justice,
to issue oleoresin capsicum spray (pepper spray) to any officer or
employee of BOP who: (1) is employed in a prison that is not a minimum
or low security prison; (2) may respond to emergency situations in such a
prison; and (3) completes the required training
on the use of such spray; and
S.
1596, which designates the facility of the United States Postal Service
located at 2082 Stringtown Road in Grove City, Ohio, as the Specialist
Joseph W. Riley Post Office Building.
