On November 14, at 1:30 p.m. (ET),
New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman will host a live town
hall on Facebook to take your questions on
student loans, predatory for-profit colleges, his office's work
protecting students under the Trump administration, and other education
issues
that are affecting residents across the state.
"College
is more important than ever in today's economy -- but affording an
education without drowning in debt is getting more difficult. The
average student debt for New
Yorkers is now over $30,000. Predatory
for-profit colleges continue to exploit students' aspirations.
"The
administration in Washington keeps siding with special interests
over the students who they are supposed to protect -- including, right
now, by using their tax bill to try to take away the interest deduction
for student loans.
"I've
directed my office to act aggressively to help students get a fair
shake -- and I want to hear from you about the issues you’re
facing," said the attorney general.
