On Saturday, March 4 at 11:00 p.m.,
a 7-alarm fire ripped through seven buildings in part of Senator James
Sanders, Jr's district in Richmond Hill, Queens. The fire left many families
homeless and took over 200 firefighters four hours to put out the fire.
Senator Sanders has taken a proactive approach to this devastation and will be hosting an Emergency Community Meeting on Thursday, March 9 at 7 p.m. at the Tulsi Mandir, 103-24 111th Street.
The emergency meeting will provide updates on the 7-alarm fire and the next steps moving forward. The FDNY will be conducting a Fire & Life Safety Training that will teach strategies on how to escape during a fire, reduce fire deaths and while promoting fire prevention.
All are welcome to attend.
