ALBANY — Close allies to Gov. Cuomo have suggested that it's time for
him to tamp down the hostilities with the Legislature, particularly with
those from his own Democratic party.
"It's not productive and it's not helpful," said one source. "The
bottom line is about getting things done. It's harder to get things done
when you can't hear each other because everyone is getting so loud. It
becomes what's the end game? Get louder?"
Other Cuomo allies expressed similar sentiments. Several questioned why Cuomo aides continue to attack lawmakers on Twitter.
The concerns come as many in the Legislature have begun openly
criticizing the governor, with some derisively comparing Cuomo to former
hot-headed Gov. Eliot Spitzer.
