Rochester, N.Y. - When it comes to helping refugees, New York is one of the top three states in the nation.
A new report by the Pew Research Center says New York trails just Texas and California in resettling refugees.
The
study shows more than 5,000 refugees resettled in New York in the 2016
fiscal year. This came after President Obama increased the number of
refugees admitted to the U.S. in 2015.
Mary’s Place on Lexington Avenue is one of a few places in Rochester that helps give them a new life.
