The Reverend Al Sharpton and the National Action Network will lead
“We Shall Not Be Moved,” marches and demonstrations kicking off on Jan. 14, 2017
in Washington during Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend.
The march is
planned to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr., and show that a large
base of civil rights
leaders, clergy, labor and elected officials are dedicated to
continuing the mission of Dr. King.
NAN is calling for President-elect
Trump and Congress to protect voting and civil rights, access to quality
healthcare as well as police reform and economic development
and equity.
“These marches are crucial because we don’t want anger over
the outcome of the presidential election to derail Americans from
fighting for civil rights,”
said Rev. Al Sharpton, the Keynote speaker and organizer of the march.
