Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) opened the Senate talking
about President Obama’s 2014 State of the Union address. He said the
president had never ended his presidential campaign, blaming the

shrinking middle class. Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) responded,
giving the Obama administration credit for job creation, an unemployment
rate of five percent, lowering the number of Americans without health
insurance, an increase in renewable energy production.
