AMMAN (Reuters) – An air strike killed at
least 12 children in a Syrian rebel-held town in Aleppo province on
Monday when it struck a school, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights
reported.
The air strike on the town of Ain Jara, nearly 15 km west
of Aleppo city, also killed a teacher, and there were reports of others
wounded, some of whom were in critical condition, it said.
Social media footage released by activists showed large
scale destruction of a building with a classroom with destroyed benches
and textbooks lying on the floor stained with blood. The footage could
not be independently verified by Reuters.
