The revolution will not be televised on Spectrum-Time Warner Cable
after 1,700 of its workers in New York and New Jersey went on strike
Tuesday.
The technicians with Local Union No. 3 International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers service Spectrum-TWC field equipment — keeping
customers’ internet and cable service up and running.
“There’s a lot of old equipment out in the field itself and if that
goes down it will impact customers,” said Derek Jordan, business agent
with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 3.
“If there are outages, troubles with modems, things like that, our workers are usually the ones who fix things,” he added.
