Protesters kept acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan from
speaking Oct. 7 at a Georgetown University Law Center immigration
conference. As McAleenan took the podium to give the conference’s
keynote address, protesters stood up, holding large black banners that
read “Hate is Not Normal” and yelled the names of children who died
while in immigration custody. After being yelled over by protesters
several times, McAleenan left the room.
