On August 19, Rev. Al Sharpton, President, National Action Network (NAN), Harlem community leaders and residents paid tribute to the legacy and life of music icon Aretha Franklin, who passed away on August 16 at the age of 76.
During
his remarks, Rev. Sharpton mentioned the pivotal role Franklin played
in helping Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the
family of Eric Garner.
