Syracuse, N.Y. -- Charter Communications wants to hold talks with New
York's Public Service Commission before it appeals the commission's
order booting the cable company out of the state.
The company, which offers cable television, broadband and telephone
service under the Spectrum brand, filed a request Friday seeking more
time to appeal the commission's July 27 order kicking it out of the
state. It also asked for a two-week delay, to Oct. 9, to file a plan for
leaving New York.
"Good cause exists to extend both deadlines," the company said.
"Granting a short extension would allow time for discussions between
Charter and the Department before the initiation by Charter of
additional Commission or court proceedings."
