EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy testified at a Senate Environment and Public
Works Committee hearing at hearing on the toxic river spill caused by
the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and one of its contractors
near the closed Gold King Mine in Silverton, Colorado. The rupture
released 3 million gallons of waste water from the mine into the Animas
River and contained lead, arsenic, and cadmium.
