NYPD Commissioner William Bratton Releases Report
Over a single weekend in April, 21 separate shootings across New
York City left three people dead and 23 others wounded. It was a grim
reminder of a time when the city was far less safe than it is today—and a
glimpse at where Gotham could be headed if its city council succeeds in
rolling back Broken Windows policing. NYPD Commissioner William Bratton
released a new report
last week arguing that the strategy he pioneered in the early 90s keeps
crime down by preventing petty criminals from “graduating” to felons.
