Turkey is not only home to more than 100,000 Syrian civilian refugees, but also high ranking defectors. Abdullah al-Omar says he was one of the staff members in the Media Office of Bashar al-Assad, Syria's president. In an interview with Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught in Antakya, southern Turkey, Omar claimed the Assad regime knows it cannot hold onto power and has already made plans to escape to Russia.
