About 2.3 million New Yorkers, or 12 percent of the state population,
struggle with hunger, according to a report by Feeding America, a
national network of more than 200 food banks.
The group's latest report reveals food insecurity rates for every county in the state.
The term food insecurity is defined as having limited or uncertain access to adequate food.
The report is based on 2016 data from the U.S. Census, U.S. Department of Agriculture and Bureau of Labor Statistics.
