ALBANY — Cynthia Nixon doesn’t expect to receive enough support at
next month’s state Democratic Committee to win a spot on the party’s
primary ballot in September.
Nixon, who is best known for appearing in “Sex and the City,” would
need the support of convention delegates representing 25 percent of the
weighted vote to automatically earn a primary spot. If not, as an
enrolled Democrat, she can circulate and file nominating petitions.
“We’ll see,” Nixon told reporters on Monday at an environmental
march near the Capitol. “But I tend to think we’re going to be
collecting signatures.”
