A series of issues -- from signal
problems to FDNY activity to investigations -- caused headaches for
subway and Metro-North riders Thursday.
FDNY
activity at Columbus Circle caused delays on A, B, C and D trains.
Northbound A trains were running local for a time as riders at the
Columbus Circle station tweeted they smelled a strong smoke odor.
Service was back by 8:30 a.m.
Separately,
an investigation at Saratoga Avenue forced a total suspension of the 3
line between New Lots Avenue and Crown Heights-Utica Avenue before 8
a.m. Service was back by 8:30 a.m., the MTA warned of delays on the 3
and 4 lines.
