Trailblazers in Black History: Channing Dungey

 

Channing Dungey is an American television executive who in 2016 became the first African American president of ABC Entertainment Group. This also makes her the first black president of a major broadcast TV network.

She was hired as president on February 17, 2016, replacing Paul Lee. 

Previously, Dungey worked as ABC's head of drama and oversaw the development of ABC Studios shows such as Scandal, Criminal Minds, How to Get Away with Murder, Quantico, Army Wives and Once Upon A Time.

Dungey joined ABC Studios in the summer of 2004.
