ALBANY -- Mayor de Blasio has given a qualified thumbs up to a plan to
address the homeless crisis that is gaining bipartisan support in the
state Legislature.
Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi (D-Queens) has been pushing the Home
Stability Support program that is intended to reduce reliance on
homeless shelters by creating a new rent subsidy to keep people in their
homes.

rental supplement proposal,” de Blasio spokesman Eric Phillips said.
“We’re in the process of analyzing the details of the idea, but it’s
definitely something we’re interested in and a goal we share with the
assemblyman.”
