FPWA Responds to Anti-Immigration Executive Orders

On January 25, FPWA CEO and Executive Director Jennifer Jones Austin released the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s executive orders on immigration:

“The President’s anti-immigration Executive Orders signed today threaten not just the well-being of immigrant children and families, but all New Yorkers. As a city and state that has long been a safe haven for all people seeking asylum and a better life, we at FPWA stand with Mayor de Blasio and Governor Cuomo, and will work to ensure that our communities remain strong in the face of policies aimed at undoing the foundation on which our country was built.”

FPWA is an anti-poverty, policy, and advocacy non-profit with a membership network of nearly 200 human-service and faith-based organizations. Each year, through its network of member agencies, FPWA reaches close to 1.5 million New Yorkers of all ages, ethnicities, and denominations.

FPWA strives to build a city of equal opportunity that reduces poverty, promotes upward mobility, and creates shared prosperity for all New Yorkers. Log on to www.fpwa.org for more information.
