The Catholic University of America’s Institute for Policy Research and
Catholic Studies hosted a discussion on the issues driving Catholic
voters and their expected influence on the 2016 election. Panelists
included Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne and ABC News political
commentator Cokie Roberts. They talked about how demographic changes in
the Catholic electorate are also influencing adherents' voting patterns,
and the rising importance of social justice issues to younger American
Catholics, particularly those of color.
