Queens was one of the hardest-hit areas
during the weekend's historic blizzard, with 30 inches of snow in some
neighborhoods. But residents are fuming because a lot of the white stuff still
remains on the streets, despite assurances from Mayor de Blasio that the
streets would be clear in time for the workweek.
Despite numerous complaints, snow
covered many tertiary roads in the borough Monday morning, from Corona and
Woodhaven to Maspeth and Sunnyside -- hours before the morning rush and with
school still on.
“They should have made a couple of
passes and it would have never got to this point,” one Corona man said.
