Two former prime ministers, Anicet Georges
Dologuélé and Faustin Archange Touadéra, came top in the first round of
presidential elections in Central African Republic.
They will compete in a run-off scheduled for January 31, according
to preliminary results announced on Thursday by the National Election
Authority .
Dologuélé polled 281,420 votes representing 23.78 % of the votes,
ahead of his main rival, Faustin Archange Touadéra, who won 19.42 % with
229 764 votes .
These results will be validated by a Constitutional Court.
