Joseph Dunford testified at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on
U.S. strategy in the Middle East. Senators' questions were focused
primarily on U.S. operations in Syria and Iraq, and the Obama
administration’s approach to balancing military operations against
ISIS,* and the political situation with the Russia- and Iran-backed
President Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria.
