Statement by the Press Secretary on S. 971 and S.984
On Thursday, July 30, 2015, the President signed into law:
S.
971, the "Medicare Independence at Home Medical Practice Demonstration
Improvement Act of 2015," which extends the period of time that a
project may operate under an existing Medicare demonstration
program that tests incentive payments for teams of medical providers;
and
S.
984, the "Steve Gleason Act of 2015," which revises Medicare payments
for speech-generating devices that supplement or replace speech for
individuals who can no longer speak or are severely speech-impaired.

On Friday, July 31, 2015, the President signed into law:
H.R. 3236, the "Surface Transportation and Veterans Health Care Choice Improvement Act of 2015," which extends through October 29, 2015, authority and funding for the Department of Transportation's surface transportation programs and transfers $8.1 billion from the Treasury General Fund to the Highway Trust Fund; and provides resource flexibility to the Department of Veterans Affairs for health care services and makes a number of changes to the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act.
