Mubin Shaikh, co-author of Undercover Jihadi: Inside the Toronto 18 - Al Qaeda Inspired, Homegrown Terrorism in the West,
talked about how Islamic extremist groups like ISIS recruit people to
their cause and how to counteract the radical mindset. He was drawn to
militant Islam at age 19, but rejected it and eventually worked with the
Canadian government to capture members of the “Toronto 18,” an al
Qaeda-inspired group that staged a series of attacks around
Canada. Mr. Shaikh spoke via video link from Toronto.
