David Lesch talked about the future of Syria and its President Assad, and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communication. Topics included Syrian opposition groups, U.S. policy toward the country, President Assad's personality and background, and some of the other influential leaders in Syria.
Professor Lesch, one of very few in the West who have met Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, is the author of Syria: The Fall of the House of Assad, a book about President Assad's deteriorating regime and what could be next for Syria and the region.
