A video of a gang of young men molesting a young girl in public has shocked a nation and has sparked angry protests across the country. And while four of the attackers have been apprehended, some activists say the incident highlights how poorly women's rights are taken in this country. Just this week, a council of village elders in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh - issued a so-called diktat banning women from using mobile phones, and from moving about freely. Even though local officials have condemned the move as illegal, it's a worrying development in the world's largest democracy. Al Jazeera's Soraya Lennie reports from Guwahati city.
