FRANCE 24 English: French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on May 18 presented a joint action plan to face the Covid-19 epidemic in Europe. They proposed a €500 billion recovery fund, and also said they were proposing to authorise the European Commission to borrow money on financial markets in the European Union's name, while at the same time respecting EU treaties.

FRANCE 24 English: French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on May 18 presented a joint action plan to face the Covid-19 epidemic in Europe.
