The following statement was submitted by the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA).
In recent weeks, since public reports of the COVID-19 coronavirus has spread, there has been a rise in malicious allegations and misinformation against Chinese and Asian people. During this public health crisis, what needs to be done to fight xenophobia and bigotry? What can the Jewish community do to show support? How can the two communities enhance their ties? How can we support public health concerns while quelling people’s fears?
