Global News: Parisians and other people in the French city celebrated the 75th anniversary of the city's liberation from Nazi occupation on Sunday, with people dressed in World War Two-era military uniforms and dresses during a parade.
Two million Parisians assembled on August 25, 1944 for a celebration
parade that retraced the entry of French and U.S. tanks into the city.
The ceremony on Sunday also recreated the moment a French flag replaced a
Nazi flag, which had flown from the Eiffel Tower for four years, when a
huge French flag was unfurled from the iconic structure.
Some American veterans who helped liberate France decades ago also
attended the parade on Sunday.
