C-SPAN: Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Keith Hall spoke with
reporters about the CBO’s budget and economic outlook for 2019 through
2029. “Debt is on an unsustainable course in CBO’s projections,” said
Director Hall. In CBO projections, the deficit for 2019 is about $900
billion and exceeds $1 trillion each year beginning in 2022. Over the
next ten years, the deficit is projected to be between about 4.1 percent
and 4.7 percent of GDP, well above the average over the past 50 years,
according to the report.
