Syracuse, N.Y. -- New York regulators are giving settlement talks
with Spectrum a little more time, postponing the deadline for the cable
company to file a plan to exit the state.
Public Service Commission Chairman John Rhodes signed an order
Wednesday giving Spectrum 45 additional days to submit its exit plan and
to petition for reconsideration of the commission's July 27 order requiring the company to leave the state within six months. It is the third time the commission has extended the deadlines.
Spectrum, by far the largest cable company in New York, now has until
Nov. 26 to file for a rehearing and until Dec. 24 to file an exit plan.
