The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has unearthed evidence of widespread racial profiling in Louisiana and
found that law enforcement agencies across the state have failed to
create policies to prevent it. Louisiana’s incarceration rate is among
the highest in the nation, and the targeting of people of color
undoubtedly contributes to the disproportionate imprisonment of African
Americans in this state.
