Poetry Spotlight: 'Murderers'....by Devón

The dark money flows
False promises of hope
Liberty and Justice
Found hanging from a rope

Legislative leaders
Chairmen of the Board
Christianity be damned
For money is their Lord

America is broken
Africa left to bleed
Soulless Men of Wall
Blinded by their greed

Sunni versus Shia
Palestine’s aflame
Putrid smell of Death
Murder in God’s name

Sheridan in Whiteclay
Lakota Nation slain
Mother Earth is drenched
In sorrow, blood and pain

Man replaces Master
And sits upon the throne
Conscious filled with evil
His heart now made of stone

No fear of Revelations
Or The Horsemen on the way
The death dealers revel
But surely they will pay

For each will be judged
At the tolling of the bell
And the power they possess
Will not exist in Hell

This poem is one of 25 showcased in "The Awakening: A Collection of Poems....for the Dead".
