Four Syracuse Churches Declare Themselves 'Sanctuaries' for Immigrants

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Four Syracuse churches have declared themselves "sanctuaries" for immigrants fleeing deportation, joining hundreds of other U.S. churches opposed to President Trump's hardline position on illegal immigration.

All Saints Roman Catholic Church, St. Lucy's Roman Catholic Church, University United Methodist Church and Plymouth Congregational Church have formed an interfaith coalition to support undocumented immigrants.

All Saints, at 1340 Lancaster Ave. on the city's East Side, is prepared to shelter any undocumented immigrant challenging the deportation process. It has a suite of rooms available in its parish annex next to the church.
