Sanders' Statement on Texas Church Shooting

The following statement was issued today by New York State Senator James Sanders, Jr.

“I am outraged, saddened and deeply disturbed by the church shooting which took place yesterday at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, killing 26 people and wounding 20 more. The federal government needs to seriously examine homegrown terrorism. It is heartbreaking that we live at a time and in a country when one cannot even gather at a house of worship to pray without being targeted by a coward who is acting on warped beliefs. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims during this difficult time.”
