As the union’s executive board prepares to meet at the start of
December, supporters and opponents of Public Employees Federation
President Wayne Spence are once again trading barbs and launching inquiries against one another.
Opponents of Spence complain that he has quietly been receiving a
$11,520 annual payment from an affiliated union, while the
administration says the arrangement predates Spence’s tenure, which
started in 2015, and is no secret.
Meanwhile, an auditor hired by Spence is probing spending by three
local division councils, including one led by the sister of a key Spence
opponent, according to PEF spokeswoman Jane Briggs.
