Brooklyn, NY - Today, Brooklyn City
Council Member Vincent Gentile released the results of an internal poll which
point to the Brooklyn’s DAs race as being the city’s most competitive election
in 2017.
The poll, conducted by Public Policy
Polling, found that among 630 likely voters, Vincent Gentile has the highest
name recognition of six candidates in the race for Brooklyn District attorney.
Additionally, Gentile has the highest favorability rating of 21 percent, with
65 percent of voters saying they do not have an opinion on the candidate.
In a head-to-head match-up, Acting
District Attorney Eric Gonzalez narrowly leads with just 15 percent, followed
by Gentile at 11 percent. With 48 percent of voters unsure of whom to support,
this indicates that it is a two-horse race between Gonzalez and Gentile, with
almost half of all voters still undecided on the race.
Speaking to the results of today’s poll,
Gentile stated. "Clearly this poll is encouraging as it demonstrates that
my proven track record as a legislator, prosecutor and advocate, has resonated
with Brooklynites."
