It's a statistical dead heat in the race for the 19th Congressional District.
Republican John Faso is ahead of Democrat Zephyr Teachout in the
latest Siena Research Institute Poll, by just one percentage point --
43 percent to 42.
In the poll, both Teachout and Faso have 75 percent of Democrats and
Republicans backing them up, respectively. Independents are also
virtualy split, with 42 percent on Faso's side and 41 percent for Teachout.
Teachout leads in the heavily Democratic counties of Ulster and
Dutchess, but in the rest of the district, Faso is favored by the
majority of voters.
