The leader of the European Conservatives and Reformists group in the European Parliament says the UK’s decision to leave the European Union is a “warning shot.”
Speaking at an “English Breakfast” hosted by the ECR in Brussels, British Conservative MEP Syed Kamall, who campaigned in favour of a Brexit, told journalists:
“The EU cannot continue as it is. the EU has to reform. There were
people that said: that is just a minority of people, we don’t really
believe that way. What we have shown when we have put that argument to
the British people – on both sides, and you have the arguments on both
sides and you have the counter arguments – the British people have
decided to vote to leave. and I think that sent a warning shot.’
