President Obama
spoke today by phone with Prime Minister David Cameron of the United
Kingdom to discuss a range of foreign policy and national security
issues, including the global refugee
crisis and the situation in Syria. President Obama and Prime Minister
Cameron reaffirmed their shared commitment to degrade and ultimately
defeat ISIL and to reach a negotiated political transition to end the
conflict in Syria. The President and Prime Minister
also discussed the need to focus international attention on the issue
of climate change and build support for an ambitious agreement at the
upcoming climate conference in Paris.
