Martin Dempsey testified on U.S. strategy in combating ISIS militants in
Iraq and Syria. A broad range of topics was covered, including ongoing
coalition efforts in Iraq and Syria; the Obama administration’s policy
toward the Abadi and Assad governments; the U.S. military-led Train and
Equip program in Syria; regional ramifications of ongoing counter-ISIS
efforts; and the Defense Department budgeting process.
