Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has directed that flags on state government buildings be flown at half-staff on Friday, September 16 in honor of an East Concord sailor who died in Bahrain on September 7.
Commander James K. Crawford died in a non-combat related incident in Manama, Bahrain. He was assigned to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command at the Combined Maritime Forces Coalition Coordination Center at Naval Support Activity, Bahrain.
"I wish to extend the condolences of all New Yorkers to the family, friends, and fellow sailors of Commander James Crawford," Governor Cuomo said. "We will honor and remember the service and sacrifice of this New York sailor."
