FPWA to Host Discussion on Emerging Nonprofit Leadership

On September 28, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies (FPWA) will host a discussion entitled Emerging Nonprofit Leadership, featuring Brian Silva, Executive Director of Marriage Equality USA.

The discussion is part of the FPWA's Personally Speaking Series and will be moderated by New York Times reporter Nikita Stewart. The forum will be held at 40 Broad St., 5th Floor, in New York City.

FPWA’s Personally Speaking series features prominent leaders who help to shape the nonprofit, philanthropic, civic and business sectors in New York City. This next installment focuses on Brian Silva and his journey to nonprofit leadership.

Mr. Silva is well-known for his work in the non-profit space, especially around LGBTQ issues, having led MEUSA’s efforts to sway the Supreme Court decision on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act.

Stewart has spent much of her career focused on local politics as a reporter, previously at The Washington Post and The Star-Ledger in New Jersey. The discussion will feature a wide range of issues facing the non-profit sector today.
